Formed in 2012, the St John Cancer Fund was founded by a group of St Johnians who felt their fundraising abilities would be more effective by creating their own fund.  Truly a grassroots movement, the cancer fund has raised over $1.2 million since its inception.  The fund supports residents and their families by providing financial assistance.  Complete transparency has been the fund's goal since the beginning.  Every dollar raised goes directly to patients.  The St. John Cancer Fund was formally organized on July 19, 2012, with a mission to provide monies for St John residents in the fight against cancer.  This fund was formed by a group of St. John residents who wanted complete financial transparency of monies raised, as well as clarity of financial assistance to patients.  There are no restrictions on how the monies are to be used by patients.

75% of our residents are small business owners and independent contractors. Most do not have access to corporate or government offered insurance coverage, and individual health insurance policies are expensive and restrictive.

St John Cancer Fund's mission is to invest in the health of our community, and the primary distribution of the funds raised BY St. John is TO St. Johnians.

We urge all who are interested in helping plan fundraising events to become involved. St John Cancer Fund plans to host an array of fundraising events throughout the year. Individuals and businesses may contribute to the fund at any time.
